Tempest fittings are FAA-PMA approved and are specially designed to reduce pressure drop and improve pneumatic system performance. The fittings are manufactured of light weight, thin wall steel tubing. Smooth tube bends permits an even flow of air through the fitting with minimal restriction. Tempest fittings are unlike the standard AN/MS fittings that have sharp internal corners, which restricts air flow in the system.
