Shipping & Delivery
This page explains how we ship, what it typically costs, and what to expect after you place an order. All prices on this page are in U.S. dollars and reflect shipping only — not the cost of the parts themselves. Final shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, destination, hazmat class, and chosen service level.
1. Processing time
Most in-stock orders ship within 1–3 business days. Special-order, custom, overhauled, and rebuilt items ship within the lead time quoted on the order; this is typically 5–10 business days but can be longer for hard-to-find parts — we will keep you informed.
AOG (Aircraft on Ground) orders are processed immediately during business hours, and on-call outside business hours; shipping is upgraded to next-flight-out or carrier expedited as appropriate.
2. Domestic shipping (lower 48 U.S. states)
Standard ground service uses UPS Ground; expedited options use UPS, FedEx, or USPS Priority depending on package size and destination. Typical domestic transit time on ground service is 2–6 business days from ship date.
Flat-rate estimates by item category (final cost calculated at checkout):
- Standard aircraft parts (under 10 lb): from $14.99 first item / $9.99 each additional
- Heavy or oversized parts (over 10 lb): from $49.99; final rate quoted at checkout based on weight and dimensions
- Batteries and hazmat items: from $59.99 (subject to carrier hazmat surcharge; some items require ground-only shipping by federal regulation)
- AOG / expedited service: custom-quoted at order placement, based on carrier rates for next-flight-out or overnight
Items over 10 pounds, items with unusual dimensions, and items in hazmat classes are quoted individually because carrier rates vary significantly by destination and service level. We will confirm the shipping cost with you before charging.
3. Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, APO/FPO
We ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and APO/FPO addresses. Transit time and rates are higher than the lower 48; expect 1–2 additional business days plus carrier surcharges. APO/FPO orders ship via USPS where the carrier supports it.
4. Rural and remote U.S. destinations
Carriers may add 1–2 business days for rural ZIP codes and remote routes. If your shipping address is at an FBO, hangar, or rural airport, please include the FBO or hangar name, hours of operation, and any access notes in the order comments — this prevents delivery exceptions.
5. International shipping
We ship to most international destinations via UPS Worldwide, FedEx International, USPS International, or DHL, depending on destination and product. International shipping rates start at $149.99 and are quoted at checkout based on destination country, weight, dimensions, and hazmat class. Some items — including certain batteries, ELTs, and ITAR / EAR-controlled parts — cannot be shipped internationally; we will notify you before charging if any item on your order is restricted.
International customers, please note:
- Customs duties, taxes, and import fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our shipping charges.
- International orders are non-returnable due to cross-border shipping cost, duties, and customs documentation — please confirm fitment and part number before placing an order.
- Some destinations require additional export documentation (end-user statement, export license) for specific parts. We will contact you if this applies to your order.
- Purchasing insurance prior to the item being processed for shipping is responsibility of the buyer. Please contact us immediately after placing the order if you would like to add insurance for extra cost, quoted per case by the shipping company picked.
6. AOG (Aircraft on Ground) service
For aircraft grounded for parts, we offer 24/7 AOG service:
- Call 1-877-722-8727 — press the AOG option or stay on the line outside business hours.
- AOG orders are processed immediately and shipped via the fastest available carrier service (next-flight-out, same-day, or overnight).
- AOG handling and expedited carrier fees are quoted at order placement and are non-refundable, because we incur them on your behalf the moment we accept the order.
7. Tracking
You will receive a shipment notification email with a tracking number as soon as the order leaves our facility. You can also sign in to your account at www.americanaviationparts.com/account to view order status and tracking.
8. Damaged or missing shipments
If your shipment arrives damaged, please retain all packaging and contact us within 5 business days at 1-877-722-8727 or [email protected], with photos of the damage. We will file the carrier claim and arrange replacement or refund.
If tracking shows delivered but you did not receive the package, please check with neighbors / FBO front desk first, then contact us within 5 business days so we can start a carrier trace.
