The PS 550 is a Control Unit for use with the MST 67A Enhanced Mode S Transponder. It contains all controls required for transponder operation including TEST, STANDBY, ON (transponder), ALTITUDE and IDENT. The PS 550 will also display the selected 4096 ATC code and current mode of operation in the display window.
Version 071-01619-0218 has a black face with an NVG (night vision goggle) display. Compatible with single transponder operation and TCASI.
- TCAS controller for TCAS equipped aircraft
- TA selection places the TCAS in the Traffic Advisory mode (TCAS I & II)
- Mode push button sequentially selects the ATC, FL mode, FID and ADC
- FID mode allows entry of the eight digit alphanumeric flight ID code
- ADC mode allows selection of the air data computer used
- ID push button initiates the IDENT feature for ATC
- XPDR activates Mode S transponder with altitude reporting
- ALT OFF activates the selected transponder without altitude reporting
- ABOVE/NORMAL/BELOW selects relative altitude display limits for non-threat category aircraft on traffic display
- Compatible with the Collins TDR-94D transponder
- TCAS Range Switch selects the TCAS nautical mile traffic display according to the installed discrete range option
- Lamps can be powered by 5VAC, 5VDC, or 28V dimming source
- Microprocessor based
