The KFS 578A Control Unit supplies serial data and control signals for the MST 67A Transponder. Equipped with an ARINC 429 serial data bus. The KFS 578A may also be used in the tandem mode (two units controlling one R/T with each control unit displaying the same readout).
Version 071-01507-4404 has a gray face with select range control. Compatible with dual transponder operation, TCASII and TDR-94D. 5V lighting.
- TCAS controller for TCAS equipped aircraft
- TA selection places the TCAS in the Traffic Advisory mode (TCAS I & II)
- TA/RA selection places the TCAS in the Traffic Advisory/Resolution Advisory mode (TCAS II)
- Digital control for use with MST-67A Mode S Transponder
- Contains all controls required for transponder operation including TEST, STANDBY, ON (transponder), ALTITUDE, VFR, and IDENT
- Supplies ARINC 429 data to all versions of MST-67A
- Can also serve as aircraft's TCAS controller for TCAS equipped aircraft
