The ART 2060 is the base unit of the RDR 2060 Digital Weather Radar System which provides a vertical picture of a pilot-selected cross-section of the storm, offering the best view available to general aviation. The intuitive colors used by the radar systems paint a vivid picture of weather, making it easy to avoid dangerous weather systems. Using Sensitivity Time Logic, the system correlates target distance with intensity, and its attenuation compensation reduces shadowing.
The RDR 2060 Digital Weather Radar is a RDR 2100 modified to fit in the same space as our RDR 2000.
- Uses intuitive colors (green, yellow, red, magenta), and six ranges (10 NM to 320 NM) to depict the weather intensity, creating a clear picture of the weather and making it easy for you to avoid danger
- The system is fully Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) compatible using ARINC 429 and ARINC 453 databusses
- The horizontal scan provides an angle of 90° or 100°
- The vertical scan an angle of 60°
- Using Sensitivity Time Logic, the system can correlate target distance with intensity
- Attenuation compensation reduces shadowing
- Multi-Function Display (MFD) interface, fault annunciation, TILT readout on display, and independent dual indicator operation
- Solid-state
- Microprocessor based antenna stabilization
- High-reliability design with magnetron life of 8000 hours
- System provides radar stabilization input for combined pitch, roll, and tilt angles of up to +-30 degrees
- Compatible with 10 or 12 inch flat plate antennas (sold separately)
- 6 kilowatts power for 320 nautical mile range
- Full 120 degree scan for broader coverage rather normal 90 degree scan
- Automatic Range Limited (ARL) feature alerts pilots to areas that radar energy cannot penetrate
- Autotilt feature automatically manages tilt angle while aircraft climbs or descends
- 320 NM range
- Autorange limiting - alerts you to areas that radar energy cannot penetrate
- Sector scans - reduces the scan time to concentrate on a specific area
- Auto Step Scan - causes the antenna tilt to sequentially step in 4° increments
