The DK120/90 is a battery operated underwater acoustic pulse generator (beacon / pinger) that is activated when the water switch is immersed in either fresh or salt water. Providing a minimum of 90 days of uninterrupted operation once activated, this beacon meets or exceeds all FAA requirements. This beacon can assist in location of CVR/FDR devices.
- Watertight aluminum case
- Capable of operation at depths of up to 20,000 feet
- Detectable at a range of 2000 to 4000 yards
- Sustained pressure up to 8700 psi
- Water switch actuation initiates beacon operation upon immersion in either fresh or salt water
- The battery used to power the DK120/90 will sustain beacon operation for a minimum of 90 days
- Acoustic output of 160 dB with an operating frequency of 37.5 kHz
- The water switch is part of a low current triggering circuit
- The generated pulses are approximately 10 ms in duration, and occur about once per 1 second
