The IC-F6121D VHF and UHF digital/analog transceiver provides NXDNâ„¢ CAI-based IDAS digital mode operation and is compatible with IDAS single-site trunking. Users can customize the radio to suite there specific needs; the following information is programable: PTT ID, individual/talkgroup list, radio access number (RAN), status, short data message (SDM), call alert, radio check (RX), stun/kill/revive (RX), remote monitor (RX), emergency (No ACK), digital voice scrambler, and GPS data.

- 128 channel capacity and up to 8 zones allows users to group channels together
- 8–character alphanumeric LCD displays icons and shows a variety of information including operating status, caller's name, and received messages
- Tough aluminum die-cast chassis and polycarbonate front panel are tested to the MIL standard 810F
- Five levels of mic gain provides clearer transmissions
- Large, backlit, front buttons are programmable to meet specific requirements
- An optional 25-pin, D-Sub ACC cable (OPC-2078) allows for an external GPS receiver or PC to be connected

- Analog mode provides 2-tone and 5-tone signals giving uses selective calling, quite stand-by, and other convenient functions; and a stun/kill function disable the radio while a revive feature restores functionality
- Priority scanning allows users to monitor one or two priority channels while scanning non-priority channels; the transmit channel and talkback functions allow for quick responses while scanning
- MDC 1200 compatibility provides PTT ID, radio check (RX), emergency (No ACK), stun/revive (RX), and a table for 500 alias (analog only)
- Lone worker function alerts users to "check in" if the radio is not operated after a preset period; an emergency alert signal is sent out automatically if the user does not "check in"
