PortableGround Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI)
The GFCI provides protectionfor personnel against ground fault shock hazards developed fromcut wires, faulty insulation, water or where electrical contactmight be made that would provide a path to ground through the humanbody.
The GFCI measures thecurrent flowing out and back to a power tool or device though temporarywiring. If leakage to ground is detected in the range of 4 to 6milliamperes, the GFCI disconnects the power supply to protect theworker.
Units are designed for15, 20 and 30 amp service and 120 or 220 volts. Models are availablein overall lengths of 1', 6', 25' and 50'.
