Cirrus Aircraft Parts
Cirrus Aircraft introduced the SR20 in 1999 and the SR22 in 2001. Cirrus sells more new piston singles than any other manufacturer in the United States. The airframe is composite, the panel is glass, and the safety case rests on the CAPS whole-airframe parachute. Parts support reflects all three: composite repair consumables, avionics upgrades, and CAPS rocket re-pack cycles.
Popular model families
- Cirrus SR20 — entry-level four-place, Continental IO-360 (early) and Lycoming IO-390 (later). Owner-group favorite for training and personal flying.
- Cirrus SR22 — the high-performance four-place, Continental IO-550-N. The best-selling Cirrus variant.
- Cirrus SR22T — turbocharged IO-550-N variant. Turbo-management, wastegate, and overboost-trip parts add to the maintenance spend relative to the SR22.
- Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet — single-engine turbofan. AAP does not stock Vision Jet consumables as a primary focus; contact us for sourcing.
Cirrus-specific maintenance items
- CAPS parachute re-pack — every 10 years. This is a Cirrus service center event, not an over-the-counter part.
- Rocket motor — 10-year replacement, part of the CAPS cycle.
- Brake pads and discs — Cleveland wheel/brake assemblies; higher wear rate than the typical four-place due to aircraft weight.
- Alternator belts and starter — dual alternator installation on the SR22 drives parts cycles.
- Oil cooler hoses — replace at 10 years for Teflon lines, 5 for rubber.
- Tempest spin-on oil filter — our best-selling consumable for the SR series.
Avionics panel families
Early SR series used Avidyne Entegra. Later models use the Cirrus Perspective panel, which is a Garmin G1000-based system with Cirrus skinning. Avionics upgrades (autopilot retrofits, ADS-B, SBAS GPS) are a recurring owner conversation.
