Description
The 879B 40,000-count handheld LCR meter measures inductance, capacitance, resistance, impedance, Theta, DCR, and ESR quickly and precisely. Fast auto ranging and quick measurement configuration such as measurement parameter and test frequency selection make these meters very simple to operate. The meter also includes handy functions such as data hold, Min/Max/Average recording, tolerance sorting, and relative mode. Measurement data can continuously transfer to a PC via the meter's mini USB interface, using either the provided data logging software or SCPI commands sent from a custom program.
- 40,000 counts resolution on primary and 10,000 counts resolution on secondary display
- L, C, R, and Z (879B & 880 only) primary measurements
- Automatic calculation of secondary parameters D, Q, Theta, ESR (Theta/ESR for 879B &880 only), and DCR (880 only)
- Accuracy up to 0.1% and selectable test frequencies up to 100 kHz (880 only)
- Fast auto range design for rapid, easy component measurements
- Auto detect mode for automatic component type identification and measurement type selection (880 only)
- Relative mode
- Visible and audible tolerance mode
- Backlit display (879B & 880 only)
- Data Hold and Min/Max/Average recording
- USB (Virtual COM) interface
- SCPI compliant commands for remote communication
- Software for datalogging and front panel emulation available as free download
- Configurable power-up-states
- All commonly requested accessories included (880 only)

Frequently asked
Does the 879B Lcr Meter with Calibration Certificate/B&k Precision 879B include certification paperwork?
This item is supplied as "Condition disclosed" rather than with full 8130-3 traceability — normal for some condition codes, and it does not mean the part is unusable, only that the paperwork profile differs. Check the listing for exactly what documentation is included, and request any available records before you purchase if your installation requires them.
What condition is this part?
This part is listed in condition NE — Condition disclosed. Condition codes describe how a part reached its current state (for example new, overhauled, serviceable, repaired, or as-removed) and directly affect what paperwork ships with it and how it should be installed. See the Glossary for the full definition of every condition code we use.
How fast does it ship?
This item is currently on backorder, meaning demand has temporarily outpaced our stock and a new shipment is inbound from the manufacturer or our supplier. Request a quote and we will confirm the current estimated delivery window before you commit. If your aircraft is grounded, AOG expedited handling is available on request.
Can I return it?
You may return this item within 30 days of delivery if it is unopened, uninstalled, and in its original packaging. Items that have been installed, powered on, opened hazmat, or separated from an attached 8130-3 tag are non-returnable because their airworthiness status can no longer be confirmed once removed from the part. See our Returns policy for the full process.
