The KFS 579A is the control/display unit for the KTU-709 TACAN. The digital gas discharge display simultaneously shows readouts of active and standby frequencies.
This KFS 579A (Alternate Part# 71-1291-15) has a black face, diffused lens, and VOLUME/ON/OFF/TEST controls and 5V lighting.
